This event celebrated the official opening of the new dealership extensions as well as the official changeover of the Dealer Principalship. After 29 years of service to the BMW brand, and the successful establishment of Bruce Lynton Pty Ltd, Mr Bruce Lynton passed on his reign to son Beric. As Bruce was the longest serving Dealer Principal of the BMW brand in Australia, Beric took the title of the youngest despite having already worked in the business for over 16 years.
In November, perhaps as a result of the increasingly successful annual Bruce Lynton Charity Ball, Bruce Lynton Pty Ltd was awarded the converted Community Award in the 2003 Gold Coast Business Excellence Awards. The annual gala event in 2003 raised $80,000.00 for its nominated charities, but this record was short lived. The 2004 event, with 650 attendees exceeded expectations yet again raising in excess of $105,000.00. In only four years, the Annual Bruce Lynton Charity Ball event has donated in excess of $285,000.00 to its nominated charities and has become a landmark function of the Gold Coast events calendar.
