The Bruce Lynton Group 2001

Also in 2001, the Bruce Lynton Group embarked upon a major community project, the Inaugural Bruce Lynton Charity Ball that was to become an annual charity event, donating the proceeds from the event to a variety of worthy charities. To accommodate emerging developments in BMW Group Australia who had recently acquired the new brand MINI, the Bruce Lynton Group sold the MG Rover dealership to Jamie Cartwright, the husband of Chelsea Lynton in September 2001. Despite the sale of the dealership the Bruce Lynton Group continues to operate as a sibling dealership to the new Gold Coast MG Rover, and provides administrative and service support to their dealership.

Shortly after the sale of MG Rover, the Bruce Lynton Group welcomed the new MINI to their stable of products, and built a new showroom at the Nerang Street site to house the new Bruce Lynton MINI Garage. Along with the MINI Cooper, and the MINI Cooper S, Bruce Lynton MINI Garage also deals in an extensive range of MINI lifestyle products, clothing and merchandise.

The last project to commence in 2001 was the renovation and expansion of the pre-delivery centre located adjacent to Bruce Lynton Land Rover. This million-dollar project was designed to increase the group’s capacity for pre-delivering and inspecting vehicles, and to create an increased capacity in both the BMW and Land Rover service workshops. The project was completed in early 2002.
